This stunning piece of artwork is our official artistic representation for the eucharistic revival in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
The original work is acrylic on board, 350 × 350 cm, and is on display at Saint Anthony Mary Claret Parish in Lleida, Catalonia, Spain. The title, painted on the book in the picture, is in the Catalan language.
This image depicts the story of the disciples who met the risen Jesus on their way to Emmaus. We see their moment of recognition, where they finally recognize Jesus in the breaking of the bread. Already their hearts are burning within them (Lk 24:32).
During this time of Eucharistic Revival, we also are invited to recognize the risen Christ in the breaking of the bread. With hearts set afire with love for him, we too, are called to share the Good News.
Catholics are encouraged to spend time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament during the National Eucharistic Revival, and beyond. The Archdiocese of Indianapolis offers thirteen perpetual adoration chapels, which are open daily around the clock. Though we may have busy schedules, visiting a perpetual adoration chapel allows us to fit in a visit to Jesus at any time that is convenient to us. We invite you to visit a chapel near you during this special time set aside for us to have an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist - the source and summit of our Catholic faith.
The Archdiocese of Indianapolis kicked off the diocesan phase of the National Eucharistic Revival with a special event on June 19, 2022, featuring two Masses at SS. Peter & Paul Cathedral, a Festival of Faith, Family, & Service, and a Eucharistic Procession through downtown Indianapolis, culminating in a Holy Hour at St. John the Evangelist Church. Photos and videos from the day are available to view below.
